LAKR vs TSK Highlights: Los Angeles Knight Riders Beat Texas Super Kings by 6 Wickets, Set Up Qualifier 1 Clash with San Francisco Unicorns

LAKR vs TSK 30th Match Report & Highlight | MLC 2026 : Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat Texas Super Kings (TSK) by six wickets in the final league match of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 season. Chasing a target of 172, LAKR reached 172/4 in 19.1 overs, thanks to brilliant half-centuries from Colin Munro and Matthew Tromp.

The victory secured LAKR’s place in Qualifier 1, where they will face table-toppers San Francisco Unicorns at the Oakland Coliseum on July 16. Meanwhile, Texas Super Kings, who had already been eliminated from the playoff race before the match, ended their 2026 campaign with another defeat.

Texas Super Kings Post Competitive 171

After being asked to bat first, Texas Super Kings struggled to build momentum in the powerplay. Wicketkeeper Saiteja Mukkamalla was dismissed for just four runs by Sunil Narine, while captain Faf du Plessis made a quick 23 off 14 balls before falling to Andre Russell.

Australian batter Rilee Rossouw looked dangerous during his 24-run knock from just 13 deliveries, but he too failed to convert his start into a big score.

The innings was held together by Shubham Ranjane, who played a composed unbeaten knock of 51 from 34 balls, including five fours and a six. Dian Forrester added a valuable 24 off 11 balls, while Donovan Ferreira chipped in with 19 runs.

Despite those contributions, regular wickets in the closing overs prevented TSK from posting a bigger total as they finished on 171/9 in 20 overs.

Holder and Narine Lead LAKR’s Bowling Attack

Los Angeles Knight Riders were disciplined with the ball throughout the innings. Captain Jason Holder starred with figures of 3/33, removing key middle-order batters at crucial stages.

Veteran spinner Sunil Narine was outstanding once again, conceding just 15 runs in his four overs while picking up one wicket. Andre Russell also made an impact with two wickets, ensuring TSK never gained complete control of the innings.

Munro and Tromp Power LAKR to Victory

Chasing 172, LAKR got off to a confident start through Colin Munro, who dominated the TSK bowlers with an aggressive 62 off 36 balls, smashing six fours and four sixes.

Andre Fletcher supported him with a steady 26, while Andre Russell’s stay at the crease was brief.

The match was then finished in style by Matthew Tromp, who played one of his best innings of the tournament. The right-hander remained unbeaten on 58 from just 28 deliveries, striking seven boundaries and two sixes to guide LAKR home with five balls to spare.

Captain Jason Holder finished the chase in emphatic fashion with a six as LAKR completed a comfortable six-wicket win.

Texas Bowlers Fail to Defend the Target

For Texas Super Kings, Hardus Viljoen claimed two wickets and Akeal Hosein picked up one. However, the rest of the bowling attack failed to apply sustained pressure as Munro and Tromp controlled the chase with positive stroke play.

LAKR Advance to Qualifier 1

With this important victory, Los Angeles Knight Riders sealed their place in Qualifier 1, where they will meet San Francisco Unicorns in a high-stakes clash. The winner of that contest will qualify directly for the MLC 2026 Final, while the losing side will get another opportunity through Qualifier 2.

For Texas Super Kings, the defeat marked the end of a disappointing campaign. Having already been knocked out of playoff contention before this fixture, TSK signed off their season with a loss despite a fighting effort from Shubham Ranjane.
