Jacob Bethell Ruled Out of The Hundred 2026 Due to Knee Injury

Jacob Bethell The Hundred 2026 Injury : England’s young all-rounder Jacob Bethell has been ruled out of The Hundred 2026 after suffering a right knee injury. The setback is a major blow for Birmingham Phoenix, who had appointed him as their captain for the upcoming season.

Birmingham Phoenix retained Bethell for GBP 340,000 ahead of The Hundred player auction, expecting him to play a key role with both bat and ball while leading the side. However, his injury means he will miss the entire tournament.

The injury occurred during England’s recently concluded ODI series against India. An MRI scan conducted on Monday confirmed the extent of the damage, and the medical team subsequently ruled him out of The Hundred 2026. Bethell is now set to begin his rehabilitation as he works towards a full recovery.

Although his performances in the series were inconsistent overall, Bethell produced a couple of impressive innings. He smashed an unbeaten 76 off 46 balls in the second T20I and followed it up with a brilliant 91-run knock in the final ODI, highlighting the form he was building before the injury.

Bethell’s absence leaves Birmingham Phoenix searching for a new captain and a quality all-round replacement ahead of the tournament. Meanwhile, England will closely monitor his recovery, hoping the talented youngster regains full fitness and returns to competitive cricket as soon as possible.
