Ella McCaughan continued the positive approach with a composed 27 off 23 deliveries, adding another valuable partnership at the top of the order. Welsh Fire then suffered a minor setback when Freya Kemp was run out for just one run, but it had little impact on the scoring rate.

Captain Sophie Devine once again led from the front with a superb innings of 52 from 29 balls, smashing three fours and four sixes. Devine dominated the middle overs, keeping the pressure firmly on MI London and ensuring Welsh Fire remained on course for a big total.

The finishing touches came from Georgia Wareham, who produced one of the most explosive knocks of the innings.
