SLK vs GAW 11 Match Highlight & Report CPL 2026 : Guyana Amazon Warriors made light work of a 152-run chase against Saint Lucia Kings in the 11 Match of CPL 2026. They got there in 18.1 overs, finishing on 157/3 to win by seven wickets.
Saint Lucia Kings had 151 on the board after being asked to bat first. It was not a huge total, but there was enough in it to make Guyana work for the win. That never really happened, though. Guyana kept wickets in hand and finished the game with 11 balls to spare.
Dwaine Pretorius was the standout bowler for Guyana. He picked up three wickets for 29 runs and played a big part in keeping Saint Lucia from getting a stronger finish.
Saint Lucia Could Not Build Enough Momentum
Saint Lucia started reasonably well, but their innings never really took off.
Andries Gous made 20 from 21 balls before Pretorius got him. Kamil Pooran then gave the innings a quick push. He scored 19 off just nine balls, hitting a four and two sixes. But he was also dismissed by Pretorius.
Ackeem Auguste came and went quickly, making 13 from eight balls. Captain Roston Chase scored 14, while Charith Asalanka tried to hold things together at the other end.
Asalanka ended up as Saint Lucia’s top scorer with 35 from 28 balls. He did not get a lot of support, though. Darron Nedd made 17 from 23 balls and could not really get the scoring rate moving.
The late overs finally brought some runs. Matthew Forde hit two sixes in his 14 off seven balls, while Shadley van Schalkwyk stayed unbeaten on 13 from eight.
Saint Lucia finished with 151/7. Pretorius took 3/29, Shamar Joseph picked up two wickets, and Romario Shepherd and Imran Tahir took one each.
Guyana Take Control of the Chase
Guyana did not go after the target blindly. Glenn Phillips provided the early push, scoring 36 from 26 balls with two fours and two sixes.
Once Phillips was gone, Mavendra Dindyal settled in. He was not in a hurry and made sure Guyana did not lose wickets in a cluster.
Dindyal eventually brought up his fifty from 51 balls. He finished with five fours and two sixes. It was not the fastest fifty you will see in T20 cricket, but it did the job. Guyana were always moving towards the target without taking too many risks.
Shai Hope made 17 before Maheesh Theekshana dismissed him. At that point, Guyana still had plenty of batting left.
And that was pretty much the game.
Hetmyer Changes the Pace
Shimron Hetmyer did not need much time to get going. He came in with the chase already under control and started finding the boundary.
Hetmyer smashed an unbeaten 25 from just 11 balls. Four fours and a six came in that short stay.
Quentin Sampson then finished things off almost immediately. He faced only four balls and hit two sixes, ending unbeaten on 13. His strike rate was a remarkable 325.
Guyana crossed the line at 157/3 in 18.1 overs. There was no late scare for the Amazon Warriors. Once Dindyal had done the steady work in the middle, Hetmyer and Sampson made sure the finish was quick.
Pretorius Takes the Player of the Match Award
Pretorius was named Player of the Match for his three-wicket performance. His spell was important because Saint Lucia had a few batters who could have made the total much bigger in the final overs.
For Saint Lucia Kings, the biggest disappointment will be the lack of a substantial partnership. Asalanka’s 35 was their highest score, but they needed someone to stay in until the end and push the total closer to 165-170.
Guyana, meanwhile, will be pleased with how calmly they handled the chase. Phillips gave them a good start, Dindyal stayed there through the middle overs, and Hetmyer and Sampson simply finished the job.
It was a straightforward win in the end, with Guyana Amazon Warriors getting home with seven wickets and 11 balls still in hand.
